The Army has decided to suspend challenge coin purchases because of the sequester.  While we consider this an ill informed decision for a number of reasons we are here to help Army folks continue to be able to reward their fine soldiers with what has become a lasting tradition.

D & R IS COMMITTED TO HELP DURING THE SEQUESTRATION

As retired Army guys (D & R is a “disabled veteran owned company”) we are no stranger to having to pay out of our pockets for things the Army ought to provide.  So during this time of sequester we are offering substantial discounts to individuals purchasing military coins to use to reward their troops.  Additionally we are waiving our usual 100 military coin minimum order to make it easier for you.

Since founding D & R over 15 years ago we have watched military coins go from simple designs to spinners, double plating, bottle openers and on more than one instance even glow-in-the-dark medallions.  These designs are fun and help build pride in the unit.  We call these “Challenge Coin Wars” as service people vie to have the fanciest military coin around.

What many people may not realize is that challenge coins can be very inexpensive while still presenting a seriously impressive appearance.  With the judicious use of intricate 3d work and careful plating we can design a coin that will simply dazzle the soldier receiving it.  And all the while keeping the cost to a bare minimum.  I think that most people do not realize that it is possible to create and produce 100 coins for less than $400.00 including the die charges and shipping.
